ATA Standards

I will talk about standards we use in technical publications.
Basically two standards are used for technical documents
1. ATA 100
2. ATA iSpec2200

ATA 100 is a paper format. This format doesn't have task or subtasks.
You might not be knowing that ATA 100 is revised many times. Technical documents are updated based on different revision on ATA 100 based on customer requirements. Revision numbers for eg revision 22, 37, etc. Revision 37 being almost like ATA iSpec2200.

ATA iSpec2200 on the other hand is an electronic format. I like this more as it saves a lot of paper. There are hyperlinks all over the document, well referenced & coloured.
Its well organised and very user friendly.

We have one more standard called S1000D. It is a future standard consisting of data modules.
Keep following me here. I will definitely write on S1000D in details as separate blog.
